    Back Beach Vung Tau

    Back Beach, or Thuy Van Beach, or La Plage de Derriere as called by the French, is a beautiful beach stretching 8 km from Small Mountain to Lap Mouth. Travelers can lie back and relax on Back Beach, considered by many to be Vung Tau’s most beautiful long stretch of sand. Swim in the warm waters and learn to ride the waves with a kite surfing or windsurfing lesson. Back Beach has everything you need for a day’s recreation, with good restaurants and cafés, watersports rentals, and beach chairs and umbrellas for rent. After a day on the sand or in the water, travelers can stroll along the boardwalk that lines the beach, stop at one of the many restaurants lining the path, and enjoy dinner while watching stunning sunset views.

    The Statue of Christ

    Towering on the top of Mount Nho (a small mountain), the Jesus Christ statue stands with outstretched arms overlooking the ocean as if he is sheltering the city from the troubles and hardships. Located on the hill 170 m above sea level, measured 32 meters in height and 18.3 meters in width, the statue is visible from anywhere in town. To reach the foot of the status, you need to climb nearly 900 steps. Then you must conquer another 133 ones inside the statue before you can visit the shoulder of Jesus Christ. Here locate viewing platforms on both sides of the arms that offer panoramic views of the ocean. The sculpture of the statue resembles the famous monuments of Christ in Rio de Janeiro. The construction started in 1974 and finished in 1993.

    Pig Hill Scenic Overlook

    Pig Hill (Đồi Con Heo), a curiosity-triggered destination, has become a popular check-in hot spot for young travelers. Once a stone mining, the bare Pig Hill offers stunning panoramic views of the busy Thuy Van Street, the Lighthouse, and whole Vung Tau city. Located in the Back Beach (Bãi Sau), the Pig Hill still reserves its pristine natural beauty. The Hill is accessible by foot or motorbike from a small alley on Phan Chu Trinh Street.

    Bau Sen Lake

    A great spot for camping in Vung Tau city. Bau Sen lake, 30 km away from Vung Tau center, is the city's green lung. It is a Primeval Forest surrounded by a year-round flood. Deep into the forest is home to many rare species of plants and animals. The best time to go camping in Bau Sen lake is during the rainy season with fresh air, luxuriant trees, and breathtaking landscapes. You will find a host of facilities and conveniences intended for camping: flower gardens, aquatic houses, lotus ponds, well-manicured landscapes, outdoor BBQ areas, tent rental services, eatery outlets, restaurants, etc.

    Xom Luoi Seafood Market

    Receiving thousands of reviews and recommendations on social media for selling the freshest seafood at reasonable prices, Cho Xom Luoi is a must-visit spot for those lovers of fresh seafood. The market opens at 5.00 am and closes at 10 pm. The best time to visit the market is during 3 – 4 pm when all the fishing boats return with big loads of freshest catches such as shrimp, crabs, squid, octopus, pomfret, grouper, mackerel, etc. Travelers can buy their favorite seafood; then have them cooked, and packed up with some additional money.

    Lighthouse

    The Lighthouse in Vung Tau is an attractive landmark for travelers when visiting this beautiful beach city. The old Lighthouse is among the oldest in Vietnam and Southeast Asia, built by the French in 1862, restored, and reconstructed in 1913 to signal and guide ships passing through Vung Tau beaches. The circular Lighthouse, 18 meters high, stands atop Mount Nho boasts a spectacular 360° view of Vung Tau. The entry is free. Travelers climb to the top of the tower from the spiral staircase at the heart of the Lighthouse, zoom off into the distance, look out over the sea, or get a close-up view of the beach town and take pictures off course.

    Nghinh Phong Cape

    Mui Nghinh Phong (also known as Cap Saint-Jacques) means Cape of greeting the wind. With its charming landscape and extended strip far into the ocean, the Cape divides the ocean into two beaches: Huong Phong Beach and Vong Nguyet Beach. Behind the Cape are shady trees, majestic mountains, and the white marble Jesus Christ statue. Other activities to enjoy at Nghinh Phong Cape are viewing the breathtaking landscape and taking great photos, staying in a tent, and breathing in the fresh sea breeze.

    Hon Ba

    Hon Ba islet is located 200 meters from Nghinh Phong Cape. Travelers can access Hon Ba islet by small boats or on foot on a hidden stone walkway sunk in the sea. The walkway is only visible when the tide is low on the 14th and 15th of the lunar month. The 5,000 sqm Hon Ba is home to a sacred template worshiping ‘bà Thủy Long thần nữ’. There are 4 Worshiping Ceremonies that take place in January, April, July, and October in the lunar calendar.
